Specialist brain and spine care closer to home

Dr. Jerold Justo performed Aklan’s first brain tumor surgery in February 2022. He later established the Brain & Spine Center at Panay Health Care and currently serves as its Center Director.

Services being developed

The Center is developing coordinated local care for:

• Brain tumors

• Head injuries and neurosurgical emergencies

• Stroke and cerebrovascular conditions

• Pituitary and skull-base conditions

• Spine disorders

• Neurodiagnostic services

Coordinated care from Aklan to Manila

The goal is to help patients receive specialist assessment, diagnostic coordination, treatment planning, and follow-up closer to home. When highly specialized treatment is needed, care can be coordinated with Manila or an appropriate partner center.

For non-emergency concerns, patients may request a consultation and bring any available scans, laboratory results, previous medical records, and a current medication list. For emergencies, please proceed to the nearest emergency department.
